Right before our eyes. Ecosystems are also changing, certain plant and animal species are disappearing. Nanoplastic particles are everywhere - in the water, the air and our food. It is no longer possible to fool ourselves into thinking that everything is fine. Ecology is no longer a fashion or a trend - it is a necessity. As humanity, we are only just learning how to take wise care of our resources and our home - the Earth. There is still a lot of learning ahead of us, but every step in the right direction, and every small decision, are very important.
PET, or poly(ethylene terephthalate), is one of the most widely used forms of plastic. The most popular and well-known product made from it are PET bottles, in which drinks or mineral water are sold.
RPET material is nothing more than a secondary material created after recycling used PET bottles and other products. It is a polymer in the form of fibres, which are then used to create fabric for the production of various types of textiles.

The processing of PET bottles into RPET is still an emerging branch of recycling, but offers great hope for the future. Secondary production can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 70% compared to conventional PET production. Widespread use of this process will also significantly reduce waste to landfill and beyond. In addition - manufacturing products from recycled materials means less use of natural resources and therefore less pressure on the environment.
Our backpack is therefore the second life of many bottles. We ourselves may have contributed to it - we can proudly say that we support an organisation that traps litter from the Baltic Sea.
We should all remember that our used plastic water bottle, or any other beverage, should always end up in a properly labelled rubbish bin. Always.
Yes, we were not wrong. In addition to products such as
such as our rucksack, RPET yarn is also increasingly being used in the production of hiking and sportswear, such as ski sets, jackets and fleece. It takes around 35 PET bottles to produce one fleece sweatshirt.
Do you know how many such sweatshirts you would find in your wardrobe in a year...?
